E-Mail Options in CRM
We are in the process of evaluating CRM 4.0. The key stake holder of this
project wants something that integrates with Outlook. From what I've read you
can either use an E-Mail Router, which processes email from within the CRM
Browser interface, or you can use CRM for Outlook which basically gives you
access to everything you would see in the browser interface in Outlook. When
installing CRM trial, on the screen that asks for "E-Mail router server name"
I put in our Exchange server name, but the verification process rejects this.
Is this because it is looking for the server where the E-Mail router is
installed and not just an Exchange server? If you go the E-Mail router path
does that mean that all you'll see in your Outlook inbox are the emails
generated from/to you? If you go the CRM for Outlook path does that mean
there is no email access in the Browser interface? I've read the planning and
installation guides. Are there any other papers/web-info out there on this?

Any help will be apprciated

Re: E-Mail Options in CRM
1 = CRM outlook path:

if you want to not use email router then its fine , whenever your
users want to send mail
through browser then you need to keep your outlook open as browswer
will be using outlook to send email.

2 = email router path:

if you want to use email router as sending the mail from browser then
install email router
for incoming/outgoing path and when you are done then you need to
change the setting .

on crm

Tool ..option-- click on tab Email

allow use of email credentails

allow email router to send the email on my behalf

user name
password
