suspected mcms database corruption - how to test/fix?
Hi all,

A client has come to us and said they are unable to export an SDO from
their database. We mounted the database in our own SQL and pointed
MCMS to it. The site works fine but we experience the same issue, we
cannot export even a single posting as an SDO from that database.
Export fails, quickly, with a SQL Timeout error at the report stage.
The weird thing is, we can export from other MCMS databases that we
attach to the same installation on our servers just fine, so it seems
to us that there must be some corruption with their database?

DBCC checkdb reports no errors. The client and our dev servers are
both MCMS 2002 with SP2.

Any ideas? I seem to recall coming across a MCMS db consistency
checker of some kind a few years back but cannot locate it now.

Thanks,

Chandy

Re: suspected mcms database corruption - how to test/fix?
Hi Chandy,

is this a database created with MCMS 2002 SP1a and now being used on SQL
2005?
If yes, then you need to install the following hotfix in order to be able to
export and import without timeout:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=913401

Cheers,
Stefan
