Is SP2 compatible with 3.5 Framework?
Wanted to know if we could move to 3.5 (we're on 1.1 with SP2 installed)?

Read that the install fails because of J# but after the install, will there
be runtime issues? Have there been any tests applied to MCMS2002 SP2 for 3.5
framework?

Just wanted to know if it will be supported. I know the support ends soon...

Thanks.

Re: Is SP2 compatible with 3.5 Framework?
Hi Kyong,

the answer is no.
MCMS only supports .NET 2.0.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hmm. thanks for the reply. That's a shame.
I read something by you, that suggested that there might be plans for an SP3
for MCMS. Are there any updates to that?

Hi Kyong,

these plans have been cancelled.

Cheers,
Stefan

Re: Is SP2 compatible with 3.5 Framework?
Hi Stefan,

But isn't .Net 3.5 fundamentally just .Net 2.0 with a couple of extensions?

Re: Is SP2 compatible with 3.5 Framework?
Hi Kiko,

the problem is that there is no J# redistributable available for .NET 3.0.
.NET 2.0 was the last version to ship this redistributable.

As Site Manager is developed in J# the installer checks for the J#
redistributable fitting to the .NET version installed on the box.

Cheers,
Stefan

in general yes. But in .NET 3.0 J# has been
