Hi again, I am trying to enable Integrated Windows authentication for my CMS website so that users of the intranet do not require to log in on the website to edit content... Problem is that when I use a DNS name i.e www.mysite.richardsite.org, the authentication fails (I keep getting a box asking for my username and password). Does anyone have any suggestion as to why this is happening ? Thanks
Okay, there's been a little progess.. I set the "Default Web site" to integrated windows login as well as the sub directory - so now as an admin, I can access the Editing features. However, my colleagues (without the editing permission, but with subscriber permision) cannot even browse the website.. So I set it to anonymous access AND integrated windows authentication, I cannot edit anymore :( It seem's to be "see-sawing"..
Hi Richi, this is by design in Internet Explorer. If IE assumes that the target site is in the internet then it will not automatically send your credentials. If the server name contains a "." then it looks like an internet domain. You need to tell IE that the server is either in the trusted or in the intranet zone. Hi Richi, if anonymous access is enabled the server will never ask the browser to authenticate. So you will not see the authoring toolbar. With other words: if anonymous access is enabled you have to use forms authentication. Hi Stefan Thanks for your replies once again. I have added the url to the trusted zone - but no luck. Still the same thing :( Have tried setting : - "Default Website" to integrated authentication - MCMS to anonymous only - NR to anonymous only - Sub directory to integrated authentication. Have also tried an number of different combination settings but still no luck. Will keep trying.
