HIS 2000 installation on Windows Server 2003 SP1
Our HIS 2000 setup is described in an earlier post ("HIS 2000 migration",
3/27/2006). In reviewing the HIS 2000 documentation, it's not clear whether
or not MSDE 2000 is required in our environment. We do not use host
security. There are no HIS clients. All printing is either standard tcp/ip
or lpr.

I would like to avoid installing MSDE 2000 on the new HIS 2000 server we're
going to set up. Is the above suffient info or is additional background
needed?

Thank for your help.

RE: HIS 2000 installation on Windows Server 2003 SP1
I installed HIS 2000 without installing msde 2000. Msde 2000 was not
necessary for our environment (no host security). See notes below. I
consider the issue closed for our setup.
