We have many PPT files posted on our SharePoint portal, but after openning any of them, there is no way to save it with another filename, not even locally in the HDD. The problem is that we posted some PPT as templates that users should be able to open (not check-out), make modifications an save as another file somewhere else. This can be done while working with other Office products like Word, but not with PowerPoint. Any idea? ----------- Paco
Paco, The problem is related to the way the user opens the file from the document library. If you click on the link then you are actually opening a "read only" copy of the document, however if you select "Edit in <program name>" from the pull down menu you can open an editable copy of the document and when you are finished you can choose "Save As" and specify a different name for the new file. -- James E.
