I have a Team Discussion group in my root Sharepoint Intranet site. I just created a subsite to the root site to handle the collecting all the information pertaining to our ERP system. 95% of the root Team Discussion group covers ERP system discussions. I have tried to figure out how in Sharepoint Designer and through straight website administration methods to move that root Team Discussion group to the subsite. Nothing so far has worked. Copy and paste between sites doesn't, there appears to be no "Move" functionality in SPD or the main administration screens. Anyone out there know how to move a Team Discussion intact between sites? -- Alan
I also have been searching for a solution. You can move or copy posts within Outlook if you connect your old & (newly created) discussion boards to it. However, this method strips out the author information. So, all the posts in a thread with five people participating on the old board all end up looking like only one person created them once you move it to the new board. The individual doing the copy/move operation becomes the author of every post. So in other words, there is a method, but it drops out one of the most critical aspects of a conversation: the participants! I am hoping some light can be shed upon this sometime soon. Thanks Brian. Not wanting to lose all the threaded participant info I probably will just leave it where it is for now. I appreciate your help. Hopefully another SharePoint admin/developer will chime in with a way to magically do this and preserve the participant info. -- Alan "Briank" wrote: > I also have been searching for a solution.
