OWA and Public Folders ToDo List
Ok, here is the situation. I am running Windows 2000 Server with Exchange
2000 SP3 with no problems. We currently have a shared "IT Todo" list in
public folders that contains all our stuff we need to get done. On our PCs in
Outlook 2k3 I have setup another Field labeled "Stores" and have outlook set
to categorize by said feild. It is also setup that after an item has been
checked, it will disappear from the current view.
Now that problem. I have just completed setup of OWA and have it working
(got stuck on the Loading... bug but managed to fix that thanks to these
forums), but when you navigate to Public Folders, IT, IT Todo List, it will
display everything based on date entered. It will also display Items that
have been checked, and I can see no option for filtering of any kind. The
"Store" field that we categorize and sort by is not displaying, nor can I
find an option to display it. Also, there is a "view" drop down that gives me
a couple options "Simple view" "Detailed View" "last 7 days," etc, but that
does _not_ actually reformat the information. All other OWA tasks function
fine.
My question is how do i get that custom field ("Store") to display and
categorize in OWA? Also, how can I have it _not_ display checked items?
(Remember, "Active items only" view drop down does not resort/remove checked
items in OWA).
Thank you very much,
Justin Allen

RE: OWA and Public Folders ToDo List
Ok small update:
Some functionality seems to be missing from the majority of OWA. I am
noticing that there appears to be "missing" buttons (IE mouseover gives you a
"clickable" icon but there is nothing actually there. There is also a "+"
button directly below the "New message" "delete message" "View message" menu
bar that should expand and colapse something. When you click it it does
change from a "+" to a "-" and back again, but no actual information is
minimized or redisplayed. This happens in all folders (inbox, calander,
etc.). When i click on an email to view it, i get an immediate page cannot be
found error. Almost all pages/views have a variation of this error:
Line:1, Char:1, Error: Object Expected, Code:0, URL:
http://mail/exchange/user/inbox/?Cmd=Contents&Page=1
As I mentioned previously i was getting the "loading..." bug upon initial
configuration, where as i found a KB article that instructed me to add a key
value to HKEY\system\currentcontrolset\services\msexchangeweb\ of
ForceClientDownLevel to 1. This allowed IE6 to access the inbox, calander
ect. It did change the look of OWA, made it look a little cheesier IMHO, and
now I am definatly having problems doing anything other than viewing at the
default view settings.
We also have exchange 2k3 on a SBS server that our executives use, and its
OWA is FAR superior in design, quality, and not to metion setup! Is there any
way to make this (exchange 2000/windows2000) work and operate more like E2k3?
To be honest, the current functionality is far less than that of even
hotmail. :(
