Hoping someone here can help as I am at my wits end!!!! I am running a active/passive exchange 2003 cluster. Up until 2 days ago our server would generate and send NDR's to external recipients who sent an email to our domain with a invaild email address. Now if an external recipent sends a invaild address to us they don't get a NDR. I have tested this with an external account and I get nothing back. If I look at the message tracker for my test messages the postmaster account records it to bad mail and an NDR isn't sent to the external recipient. I have allow "non-delivery reports" ticked under Global settings. We are using surf control as our mail relay and this server is configured as a smart host in the SMTP settings. All external/internal mail is working fine. I just can't get NDR's outside of the Exchange server. If I send to a invaild address to my domain internally I recieve an NDR. If anyone has any ideas it would be grealy appricated! Thanks in advance.
I've managed to figure it out. The cause was Surf Control. The Exchange server relay type had been changed from outbound/inbound to just inbound and surf was rejecting the Exchange servers NDR without logging any errors. Changed it back and that sorted the problem
Hi Mattagoni, We are trying to configure surfcontrol (4.7 SP1) for exchange 2003 1A-1P cluster and having quite number of issues there. Did you get any official install procedures on exchange2003 cluster for surfcontrol application? Regards, B.Savic mattagoni wrote: > *I've managed to figure it out. The cause was Surf Control.
