502+Command+not+implemented
Hi all,

I am having trouble sending to a specific (external) domain, and am trying
to work out what is happening.

My users will send an email, but the email will never seem to get out of the
smtp queue. When I look at the SMTP logs, I can see the following:

OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 - -
220+mail.yourcompany.com+ESMTP+Service+ready 0 0 40 0 172 SMTP
OutboundConnectionCommand SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 EHLO -
EXCHANGE.myccompany.com 0 0 4 0 172 SMTP
OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 - -
502+Command+not+implemented 0 0 27 0 235 SMTP
OutboundConnectionCommand SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 HELO -
EXCHANGE.mycompany.com 0 0 4 0 235 SMTP
OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 - -
250+Requested+mail+action+okay,+completed 0 0 41 0 329 SMTP
OutboundConnectionCommand SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 MAIL -
FROM: 0 0 4 0 344 SMTP
OutboundConnectionResponse SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 - -
250+Requested+mail+action+okay,+completed 0 0 41 0 407 SMTP
OutboundConnectionCommand SMTPSVC1 EXCHANGE - 25 RCPT -
TO: 0 0 4 0 407 SMTP

I am not sure why this is happening, and whether or not the trouble is
originating at our end?

Thanks for any advice...

David
