Recovery only with IS and System State
Hi All,
I require to recover an exchange installation. I only have IS and the
System State of the crashed server. Is it possible to reinstall the Windows
2000 server, Install Exchange 2000 and restore the IS? If possible, how
could i do it?. Is there any documentation available for this situation.
Any help is appreciated

This:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6E55DD49-8A6C-4F30-947E-BDE95917F585&displaylang=en
should be your starting point.
From what you've said the tentative answer is a yes. The caveat is
that if you only have the IS, you may not be able to get back to the
point of failure. But I speculate. Understand the document (It's a
PDF) and then use some spare hardware or a virtual pc/vmware solution
to test the restore.
Always come back and ask questions if you need. Make sure you do this
in the lab before you commit yourself to the real hardware - unless of
course it's brand new kit and you're not losing time or resources by
using it.

Re: Recovery only with IS and System State
Thanks for the info.
This was just a test scenerio. So, point of time recovery is not an issue.
but when i try restore the IS i get error, c1041724. I have tried Q313184
but still no use. Any solutions?
ARegards
