hi, -old and new server are win2k active directory dc @ sp4 -new server has all fsmo and global catalog i have -tranferred all e2k mail boxes to new server -followed kb307917 except for item 10 -i have also replicated the "events root" system folder and removed old serv er from the replication list -both servers are listed on the replication tab of the "system configuration folder", but my understand is that no action can/needs to be taken problem if i power down old server, my outlook 2k clients cannot get fully connected .. the inbox shows, but the outlook ek client is hung forever. even new excha nge messages show in the inbox so i know the client is in some way connected to the new server. if the old server is online, then the clients work just fine. i would really appreciate some help figuring this out.. thanks, jon
This turned out to be a client problem, not an e2k server problem (what I expected it to be). The solution was to delete and rebuild the client mail profiles. They apparently held onto references to the "old" server. Now outlook starts up and is ready in a few seconds.... Jon ps I have spent days chasing this "problem". Oh why doesn't MS think about these senarios during design and handle them for us???????
