hi all ihave 2 server win 2000 both running AD and DNS we decied to install exchange 2003 on one of then then we run forestprep on the the second server (DC) after finish our boss what to install exchange 2000 server instadd due to its low memeory consume so what i do ? i only run forestprep on this server how i do undo of this operation and i do not make a backup?
Hi, It is not possible to undo a forestprep. During a forestprep the schema is extended with exchange attributes and these attrivutes can't be removed without a complete restore of your domain controllers. You should however still be able to install an exchange 2000 server in the domain. I would still recommend that you install exchange 2003 (I am not sure your boss is correct about the memory consumption), but in exchange 2000 there were problems with memory leaks. Also in Exchange 2003 you get all the latest bugfixes and all the new mobility features. Have a look at www.microsoft.com/exchange for reasons why you should install the newest version. Hi, Here is the minimum requirements for running Exchange server 2003: http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/sysreqs/2003.mspx If possible don't run domain controller and exchange on the same server.
