Inplace upgrade questions
All, I'm running in a 2000 domain with Exchange 2000 enterprise running on a
2000 member server. I need to do an in place upgrade to Exchange 2003
enterprise. Can I run the domain and forest prep from the cd while on the
Exchange server or do I have to run the two commands from one of the 2000
domain controllers? Running these two prep utilities will not effect my 2000
domain will it? It just adds the needed Exchange 2003 onjects correct? I have
already ran dcdiag and netdiag with good results. Thanks in advance for your
advice.

Re: Inplace upgrade questions
Hi,

You can run the /forestprep and /domainprep from either the exchange server
or on one of the domain controllers.

These won't affect your windows 2000 active directory (except for expanding
the schema and setting some exchange related permissions).
