how to receive email from any other domain name?
Hi,

How can I reveive email from any other domain than the one setup on exchange
server?
From my outlook I can only send email to @mycompany.com and I can only
receive email from @mycompany.com . mycompany.com is the domain setup on
exchange.
I would like to be able to receive email from whoever.
thanks

Re: how to receive email from any other domain name?
Hi Thanks for the link,

I did add the DNS server for my SMTP protocol, but I still can not send or
receive any email form another domain name than the one setup on exchange.

Thanks

a) did you add your new domain to your recipient policy?
b) did you make sure all mail-enabled objects were updated with the new
domain/smtp addresses?

You can receive as anything you like, but you can send only as the SMTP
address defined as the default in your mailbox, which is usually set by your
recipient policy.

Re: how to receive email from any other domain name?
Hi , Thanks very much

I am now able to receive email now from any domain name, but it takes
about 1 hours from the moment the email is sent to the moment I receive it,
(for example I use my hotmail account to send an email to @mycompany.com )
is ther anything I can do to make it go faster ?
In outlook, for the pop3 and SMTP, I put the ip adress of the exchange
server, is that the correct way of doing it?

thanks

If you enable message tracking, you can see when the message came through &
was delivered to your mailbox. If you enable SMTP logging, you can view the
entire conversation.

What's the domain name in question?

Why are you using POP in Outlook rather than connecting directly?
