The Exchange 2000 server and Exchange 5.5 is currently running as a mixed mode environment. I would like to upgrade the Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 via inplace upgrade. Bascially I will move the user account to the Exchange 2000 server. Then upgrade Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 via inplace upgrade. Is there anything else I need to watch out. I have public folders also in Exchange 5.5 which has a replica copy in Exchange 2000. Thanks...
Hi, See my response to your post. Are you really going to need the second server? You can create a SMTP connector on the first server. I have mixed environment 3 Exchange 5.5 and 1 Exchange 2000 server. I am planning to do inplace upgrade for Exchange 5.5 and it doesn't have IMS connector. Is it better to uninstall Exchange 5.5 and then install and join to exisiting organization for Exchange 2000. Thanks for your help... Hi, If possible I always prefer to install new, but there is nothing wrong in upgrading an Exchange 5.5 server as long as it fullfills the requirements. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324318 Leif "Paul" skrev i en meddelelse news:0052CF95-B40C-4494-AA96-43980F468256@microsoft.com... > I have mixed environment 3 Exchange 5.5 and 1 Exchange 2000 server.
