Re: Adding another Exch 2k3 ?
Sasa,
To add another RUS, should I do this during the installation? Part of
the reason I ask, is because the installation is going to take place at the
same site where our primary exchange server lies. That way I can transfer
all the mailboxes instead of transferring them over the WAN. Once that part
is complete, I will be bring this server up at the new site. At that point,
should I install the RUS like you recommend then or should I install RUS
during the installation?
Also, totally separate, I will eventually make this exchange server (not
our primary one) the message router and to do this, do you have any
documentation or links to configure this server as such?
Thank you
Alex Anderson

Re: Adding another Exch 2k3 ?
Alex,
you can add additional RUS after, but it is not a requirement! You might
want to create it just because of faster updating of proxy addresses in
remote site.
Do not forget to point it to AD server in remote site.
Regarding routing this should do:

Re: Adding another Exch 2k3 ?
Sasa,
When you say, "don't forget to point it to AD server in remote site" I
do have two DC's at the remote site and they are GC's, is there a mechanism
I will have to configure to point it directly to a AD server?
Thank you

When you will be creating new RUS you will be asked to which DC you want to
point it.

Re: Adding another Exch 2k3 ?
Hi,
You can only access one server from the outside - the one with the public IP
address. If your mailbox is located on the other server the first server
will redirect you to a servername or internal IP address that can't be
resolved from the internet (but it will work from the intranet!).
