I thought I was done with the old 5.5 Ex server and decommissioned it. I thought i followed the proper steps. It is no longer on the network. I now get these errors continually in the Event Viewer: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSADC Event Category: LDAP Operations Event ID: 8026 Date: 7/12/2005 Time: 8:40:14 AM User: N/A Computer: <server name Description: LDAP Bind was unsuccessful on directory <server name> for distinguished name "<user name>. Directory returned error:[0x51] Server Down. It appears it still thinks the old server is out there and is trying to reference. I just noticed the ADC is still installed. The Public Folders and Users still make reference to the old server. I also noticed the config_CA and remember something saying about leave that alone. If the new server is up and running and appears fine and the old server is out of the picture, can the Active Directory Connector on the new server be uninstalled to clear this error up?
Hi, If there are no more 5.5 servers in the exchange organisation you just follow this to uninstall the ADC: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;272314&Product=exch2k Leif "COB" skrev i en meddelelse news:6C3E84A0-68F6-462D-A93F-89C471D06200@microsoft.com... > I thought I was done with the old 5.5 Ex server and decommissioned it. Didnt mean to click "No" you didnt help me but this is a continuation of the previous: I went to Add/Remove programs and tried to remove the ADC connector. It said: Setup is unable to continue as it has detected one or more connection agreement(s) associated with the ADC. You must first delete the Connection Agreement(s) or configure them to run under a different Connector Service. I went back to the ADC connector and there are 3 things entered: The CA record pointing at the new server The Public Folders pointing at the OLD server The Users Pointing at the OLD server. I tried to delete the Public Folders and it gave me another warning: This Connection Agreement (CA) is the primary CA for the connected Windows domain. For replication to succeed, you must select a new CA to be the primary Windows CA. OK Then it has do you really want to delete? and I said Cancel. My gut is to delete the Public and Users entry pointing to the old server and then try to remove the adc again BUT i dont want to be wrong on this. I didnt think the other option of changing the server to the new server would be right either. Is it safe to delete the two entries? What am i doing wrong? I did all the steps that lead up to the removal of the ADC but i guess i waited to long for the replication and the server has been rebooted and then maybe recreated these entries? Hi, The article posted in my previous post explains how to get rid of the connection agreements and later how to uninstall the ADC properly. Thank you. I had gone thru most of these steps before. I guess I missed #11 and then the obvious one #12. Just one note: I noticed now that when I go into the Public Folders under the Admin Group and then right click to View SYstem Folders - I get an error: The token supplied to the function is invalid. ID No:80090308 Exchange Systems Manager What does that mean? I thought the event viewer looked pretty clean.
