Does Exchange 5.5 site service account still needed when there is no more 
Exchange 5.5 server in a site? Thanks.

Nope.  Exchange 2000 and up use local system account.

Hi,

In addition to the previous answer you need the account untill you unstall
the ADC.

Folks, 
Thanks for the replies. One more question, if I go ahead to change the 
Exchange Server Information under Connections of all CAs for that site to an 
account that has been granted appropriate Exchange permissions, can I safely 
remove that site service account now?

Hi,

Why not just uninstall the ADC?

If you have no more 5.5 servers there is no need for this service - see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;272314&Product=exch2k
