How do you actually RUN downloaded Deployment Tools?
Attempting to install Exchange 2003 on a 2003 Active Directory. The
installation CD suggests it's important that you download the latest
Deployment Tools from the web rather than use the ones on the CD. Ok, I did
this and ran the DL'd application, which deposited a series of .DLL's and
dos applications into a folder called Deployment. Obviously I cannot copy
these to the CD. There is no windows executable in the download and if I go
back to the Exchange CD it's using the Deployment Tools it has on its CD.
How do I actually *use* the new, downloaded Deployment Tools?

Thanks

Hi,

If you run the deployment tools from the cd and you allow the tools to
upgrade itself from the internet it will be the upgraded tools that run.

Thanks for your response. I didn't see an option for the tools to upgrade
themselves because the advisement to upgrade from the web occurs prior to
any such opportunity within the tools deployed. However, in the meantime I
discovered that one of the files in the distribution has the extension .hta,
which apparently means "HTML Application" and it is indeed an executable. I
was able to launch the Deployment Tools directly from my download by doing
this and the installation went quite smoothly.
