moving exchange to a new server
We want to move exchange from the domain controller to it's own server, and
want to move users over a week or 2 time period.

We currently have exchange 2000 installed on server 2000. The server that
exchange is on is the primary domain controller, there is another DC on the
network.

We have installed exchange 2000 on a different server, then upgraded to
exchange enterprise edition. We moved 2 users who are no longer with the
company to the new exchange to test and they moved with no problem. Both
exchange servers show up in system manager.

The 2 users on the new exchange can email each other, but not users on the
old server. Users on the old exchange cannot email the users on the new
exchange.
All of the mail sent shows in the queue as waiting to be sent out.

Any ideas on why they can't email between them. What other information can I
provide that will help?

Thanks

Mike

Hi,

You haven't by any chance configured smart-host on the SMTP virtual server
have you??
(smart-hosts should always be configured on SMTP connectors).

Re: moving exchange to a new server
Removed the smarthost from the virtual servers, added it to a connector and
it works like a charm now..

Thanks that fixed it..
