Public folder help please..   
I've been tasked with cleaning up our public folders.  There are a LOT of
disparate folders, some of which probably haven't been touched in years,
while others are used daily.  My questions are these;

What would be the most efficient way of identifying folder owners/managers
AND folder users?

What would be the most efficient way of backing up the public folders so
that they can be restored quickly in the likely event i delete an active
one?

What's the proper method for doing a public folder restore?

We're running Ex2k in native mode.  Most users have Outlook2k3.

PFINFO - you can export the PF hierarchy and all the permissions.

I'd just archive to a pst and burn to CD/DVD.

Hi Jim,

To identify the permission setting of public folders, I recommend use 
PFDevAdmin utility, the download address is:

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/PSS/Tools/Exchange%20Support%20Tools/PFDavAdmin/

The other two utilities, PFAdmin and PFInfo, only work with the released 
retail version of Exchange 2000 Server or with Exchange 2000 Server Service 
Pack 1 (SP1). These utilities do not work with versions of Exchange 2000 
that were released after Exchange 2000 SP1. Please refer to:

Windows Handle ID No: 80040102 Exchange System Manager

The most efficient way of backing up and restoring public folders maybe 
using Outlook to import/export them via PST files. You can set the back up 
scope as whatever your like, and access the backup PST file at anytime. PST
