550 Error   
Hello,

Could you please tell me if the following error message is caused by the 
sender or on the recipient's end?

SMTP ERROR FROM REMOTE MAILER AFTER END OF DATA:
HOST XXXX.XXX.COM [XX.XX.XX.XX]:  550 REQUESTED ACTION NOT TAKEN:
NUL CHARACTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

Hello Bob,

Unfortunately not definitively, No.  Is the X'd out information, the sender or the receiver?  If I had to guess, I would state that the reciever is the one generating the 
message.  BUT even with that you will need a trace of the conversation, because of the complaint.  The question is are you sending a NULL character or NOT (is the 
receiver mis-perceiving the data stream).  Then if you are the question becomes, does the RFC prohibit this, or is the sender being to restrictive or incorrect.
