need assistance with quota messaging service - mdb guid missing
I am trying to implement the Quota messaging Service for Exchange on my
Windows 2000 server running Exchange 2000 SP3.
Instructions for the Quota Messaging Service tells me to go to the registry
and:
Drill down to HKLM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIs\servername>\<mdb
guid>
a.. Create a REG_DWORD value named Local System Ignores Quota, and set the
value to 1 (note this value must be set on each <mdb guid> entry as the
quota service otherwise wont be able to save messages to users who are over
shutoff (prohibit send and receive) quotas, if the exchange server does not
use shutoff quotas the value can be set to 0 or be omitted)
a.. Create a REG_DWORD value named Disable Quota Messages, and set the value
to 1 (note this value as well must be set on each <mdb guid> entry, the
value prevents the MSExchangeIS process from generating internal quota
messages)
now here is the thing, once I drill down to msexchanigis\servername\ I do
not see MDB GUID anywhere.
under SERVERNAME I just have two folders, one that says Private with numbers
following, and another folder called Public with a lot of numbers after the
name.
should I have the MDB GUID?
since it is not there, should I create MDB GUID and add the Reg_dword values
there, or can I just add the values under the servername?
not really used to digging this deep into the registry, so please forgive my
ignorance.
