This is by far a bizzare problem. At our company when people leave we take their mailboxes and move them to public folders for new hires or people within the company to view their emails. Simple, we give them reviewer rights at the top of the root or at the public folder lever and let it propigate to all the subfolder. For handful we give them owner rights. I have navigated thru up and down the folders to make there nothing missing in the permissions, but all is well. Now when we give a user a particular permission he/she can see and navigate to the inbox folder but cannot view emails from their AD connect desktop using outlook 2000 will all the service packs. we had user log in to different desktops if the problem was profile related (didn't think it could be but thought we try it anyways). I even install Office 2003 and the problem still exists. Here is where it get really wierd, if the same user logges in on to citrix on window 2000 TS server and when the user tries to access the same public folder he/she can see the emails. The app was published pretty much the same way using the same mst file. If it is rights relate then how come the user logged on to Citrix on TS can see those email but not on his/her desktop? I also have a user that can't see emails on neither her desktop or citrix. This is a real head scratcher. Our Exchange Environment is Exchange 5.5, 2000 and 2003. We are moving away from exchange 5.5. I know Exchange 5.5 can cause these issues but the public folders do not reside on that server nor does the user. Public Folders are located on one server. I really don't know what else to do I am out of avenues here any help with this greatly appreciated. Thanks Jitesh Mehta
I did resolve this issue with this particular user by doing either of 2 things deleteing the Outcmd.dat or unchecking all the plugins and cheking them one by one to find the problem one by one. Now I have another user similar in rights and I done the above troubleshooting she still can't see the contents of the folder she can see the public folder and it's subfolder but not the contents. This goes for accessing from Citrix, outlook client and OWA all the same result. And she has the exact rights as other users. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks Jitesh.
