OWA HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailible
This is a box that will be used in a sister organization that will not have
all of the security that our main organization has. This box currently is a
beta box to discover what security issues will be need to be covered. In
attempt to make this standalone mail server somewhat secure to this
organization, I have opted to close all the ports, with the exception of
necessary port, on the network card to prevent any from being open. This is
when the error occurs to the OWA. The ports I am currently keeping open for
the Exchange to function are: 25, 80, 143, 389, 443, and 3268. I have enabled
more ports but to no avail.
This error is because of ports not being opened. When I Permit All ports
everything works fine. Any suggestions to the port(s)? I have other ideas of
a little more secure enviroment, however I would like to know for future
knowledge on the port issue. I am running Exchange 2003 Sp1
Thanks

Re: OWA HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailible
Hi,
Thta should be the same ports as required if a front-end server is located
in a DMZ so I have added a link to a document describing this setup:
