We currently have an Exchange 5.5 org running in an old NT 4 domain. We are in the process of setting up a new AD 2003 domain and Exchange 2003 in mixed mode but it is a new org and was not joined to the original. What is the best way to get the GAL replicating between the original 5.5 and the new 2003 exchange? The company was looking into what is it MIIS or MMIS which joins different Exchange systems and orgs to show one GAL but it appears that will not happen as soon as our site gets this running so looking at how to do this.? As always, any insights / help is appreciated! Regards, Alan
We get the same situation. We have a central Exchange 5.5/2003 mixed mode environment, and a remote independent Exchange 5.5 Org in NT 4.0. But worst still, the two separate Exchange domain bears the same Organization name. So I can't use ADC to connect the remote Org as Inter-org replication. According to Microsoft, the only solution is MIIS. If you don't required synchronizing domain account SIDs, you can use directory export/import to manually copy the contacts over. However, those accounts will be shown as contacts only. I have successfully created those contacts for remote E5.5 users in our central AD.
