Error: the RPC server is unavailable
When I click on Tools / Monitoring nad Status / Status, in ESM I get the
following pop-up error:

The RPC server is unavailable.

Facility: Win32
ID no: 800706ba
Exchange System Manager

Can someone explain what this error meens, or where it's comming from? For
that matter, which server is unavailable?

We have an 2003 Domain and run Exchange 2003 SP1. I did run netdiag to see
if anything looked out of place, but it came back clean as far as I can
tell. Certainly no failures. I'm not seeing anything in the logs at this
eime that indicate a problem either.

Re: Error: the RPC server is unavailable
Hi Dave,

This error might be related to administrator rights, check if you have all
reqd permissions on that server...
Pay attention on local admin right!

Re: Error: the RPC server is unavailable
Figures. After several weeks of this problem. I finally give up and ask for
help, and then it goes away on it's own (or it was part of another problem I
resolved last week...who knows). Weird. Thanks for the help, and I'll keep
that in mind if it comes back.
