Adding storage groups
I'm considering splitting our current Exchange configuration into 3 storage
groups to enhance our recoverability. I plan to define the storage groups by
criticality, create the new storage groups and mailbox stores, then begin
migrating mailboxes, moving the least critical first. Are there any issues
about which I should be aware?

Re: Adding storage groups
You'll reduce your SIS. If you do it by criticality, I assume that means the
most important people in 1 SG etc. Guess which one will go down?

SGs are generally split for size. Hit 50GB (IOPS permitting) and then create
a new one and split by department to retain SIS.

Re: Adding storage groups
Single instance storage. A mail sent to several users will be stored only
once pr. mail store.
