Gruss Thomas
My client has relocated his small office (5 Users) into a home in a residental area from a small industrial area. It appears that during periods of inactivity, the DSL line is dropped and there is sometimes a delay in re-connecting to the ISP and the Internet. I believe this is the cause of the NDR's from the server. Since this was never a problem before, and I've never had to deal with it before, i need help. What settings do I need to adjust to the number of retries Exchange does before sending an NDR and how to set Echange to try and try again for the internet connection. I hope I have explained this well, Thanks Doug Sanders
Hi, you can try to configure the router to keep the DSL (not 'on demand'): maybe this is the problem However you can modify the SMTP virtual server properties and the SMTP connector properties (you will find tabs about retries, time to wait..) I hope this is useful Cosimo Milan, Italy "Doug Sanders" ha scritto nel messaggio news:xM6dnWxIF77kk7zVnZ2dnUVZ_u6dnZ2d@earthlink.com... > My client has relocated his small office (5 Users) into a home in a > residental area from a small industrial area. > > It appears that during periods of inactivity, the DSL line is dropped and > there is sometimes a delay in re-connecting to the ISP and the Internet. > > I believe this is the cause of the NDR's from the server. > > Since this was never a problem before, and I've never had to deal with it > before, i need help. > > What settings do I need to adjust to the number of retries Exchange does > before sending an NDR and how to set Echange to try and try again for the > internet connection. > > I hope I have explained this well, > > Thanks > > Doug Sanders > >
Thanks for your input. I didn't even think about the router idea.
