If you have the mangled attribute you can edit manually through ADSI Edit.
If it were me, I would bring Exchange 2003 into your Windows 2000 Domain
first then move your user mailboxes to Exchange 2003 then follow
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307917. Now you can run ADPREP on your
Windows 2003 Server to bring your AD to 2003.
