We are using Exchange 2007. Just a quick question. We have users with mailboxes. We sometimes want to delete the user account but keep their mailbox. When I go to ADUC and choose delete on the user the option comes up saying Mark each selected exchange mailbox for deletion which I assume deletes the mailbox. But it does not allow me to uncheck. Is this how it should be. I have full exchange admin rights. How can I delete the user and keep their mailbox.
Disable the user mailbox from the EMC first then remove the user account. This will move the mailbox to the 'Disconnected Mailboxes' node and allowing you to reattach the mailbox to another user account at a later time. Be careful you do not let the mailbox expire beyond the Deleted Mailbox Retention time however because it will purge it's self from Exchange is it has not been reconnected by that time. -- Richard Rodgers M3 PostMasters M3PostMasters@nospam.m3tg.com M3 Technology Group www.m3postmasters.com "guv" <guv@> wrote in message news:uCnbfDTeIHA.536@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > We are using Exchange 2007.
