Move Exchange 2003 off DC to new forest.
Here's the situation.
We have a Exchange server that was setup as a AD domain controller several
years ago (Exchange 2000/Server 2000) for a small number (5) of Blackberry
users. Both Exchange and Server 2000 were upgraded to Exchange 2003 and
server 2003 a few years ago. The Exchange domain is also in a different
forest from our normal logon domain.

Now we are planning to greatly expand the number of Exchange users but
before we do I want to move Exchange off of the it's current domain/forest
and move it to a member server on our normal domain (different forest).

What I'm looking for is the least painful method of doing this.

Thanks
Bill

Hi,

Use the move server method as described here:
http://www.swinc.com/resources/exchange/faq_db.asp?status=questions&faqID=1001&faqname=Exchange%202000§ionID=1024§ionName=Exchange%202000%20Move%20Server%20Method

Re: Move Exchange 2003 off DC to new forest.
Leif,

Thanks for the response, but I don't think I can use that procedure, the new
server is going to be a member server in a different domain.

Re: Move Exchange 2003 off DC to new forest.
Hi,

Then you can use the migration manager - part of a normal exchange
installation.
