Cannot remove Exchange 2000
I have an old Windows 2000 server that has Exchange 2000 on it but this
Exchange server has been out of service for a while (services stopped). I
wanted to demote this server to a member server (was currently a DC) and
also remove Exchange server. So, I demoted it first, which went fine. But
now when I go to run the Exchange 2000 Remove Program applet, it won't let
me remove it because it says there are active mailboxes. As far as I can
tell, you need AD to delete mailboxes, and I removed AD when I demoted the
server. So, any idea on how to remove Exchange 2000 at this point?
Thanks. -- tom c

Re: Cannot remove Exchange 2000
That helped! The search found that the Administrator mailbox was still on
the old server. I moved it to the current server and Exchange 2000
uninstalled just fine. Thanks!
