Undeliverable E-mail Plugs Up Outlook Express
I have an Exchange 2000 server set up for IMAP e-mail.

When a person on the system sends an e-mail that is undeliverable, the
resulting server notification 'bungs' Outlook Express up. OE can no longer
download any e-mails or headers.

However, if I access the acount via OWA and delete the server notification,
everything works fine again. Note that in OWA, the server notification always
shows as a 404 message.

I presume that either an IIS service isn't running or whatever error message
template should be available isn't, for some reason. Any ideas where to begin
looking? I've been Googling this for about an hour now and another hour going
through the KB - nuthin'!

Cheers!

Sounds like your problem is very much more with the client than with
the server. If your IMAP clients are sending mail, obviously with
SMTP, and it's only the undeliverables that cause you problem I'd ask
the Outlook Express groups in the first instance.
I haven't seen it but there aren't that many people who use IMAP/POP
in major Exchange deployements.

Hope you get the right help over in OE land.
