Can't Mail Enable Public Folder
Hi,

I am trying to mail-enable one of my public folders and i get the message.
"The mail proxy for this folder can not be found"

System:

Running Single Exchange 2003 Box under native mode

I upgraded from 2000 to 2003 about 9 months ago

Recently I changed the mode from mixed to native

Steps:
1. Created a public folder via ESM on the exchange server. Then I tried to
mail-enable the public folder and got that nasty message.
2. Opened Active Directory users and Computers(dsa.msc) I located the
Exchange System Objects folder which was buried in the LostandFound
Container. I tried to locate the new folder that i created but it was not
listed.
3. I checked the eventviewer and I get a 9543 Error which is
"Unable to create Public Folder proxy object for folder "Gifts" in the
Active Directory. "
4. I tried following the Microsoft KB article on this issue which is at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328740. I opened up the Information Store
Viewer and the PRF_PF_Proxy was not set with a GUID.
5. Another article suggested setting the permission on the public folder
via dsa.msc however the folder doesnt even appear there.

Re: Can't Mail Enable Public Folder
Several articles indicate that running /forestprep and /domainprep again
will fix the problem

Here's one:
