OWA Logon Problems
Hello,

We have 2 FE servers which are servicing all our other backend mailbox
servers fine except a new one we recently deployed. We stood up a Native AG
and a single backend MB server. When we hit the FE server and put in the
credentials, we're getting:

The System Cannot Find the File Specified (I turned off friendly HTTP error
messages in IE)

This Native site is part of our Org but the users are members of a child
domain with a different SMTP address, however, other users in the domain
with a different SMTP address can authenticate.

Any thoughts?

Hi,

The new SMTP address is the problem. See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;293386

Re: OWA Logon Problems
I've seen this KB, but I'm curious why we never ran into this problems with
users in the same domain that also have new SMTP addresses. Is it because
this is a native AG?

Re: OWA Logon Problems
Ok, so what I did was went into the user account and added a secondary SMTP
address which = what the default RP lists and it now works. Again, I didn't
have to do that for other users who are in that domain and have a seperate
SMTP address. The only difference is these other users are on servers that
are members of original 5.5 Sites. This one that I just fixed is a native
AG. We're still in mixed mode and we have a RP for that native site but it
doesn't include the default SMTP address.

Should I simply update the RP to include this secondary SMTP address? I
really will need justification on why we have to first.

Thanks

Re: OWA Logon Problems
Hi,

I can't say why you have to do it. All I can say is that I always had to
create virtuel servers for all supported domains (instead of adding the
default SMTP address) to allow all users to access OWA.
