Hi, For our hurricane urgent plan , we keep one standalone domain controller with every services on it for backup , so if hurricance hit our city then we just can bring this server with us and rebuild the office in another location (if we are still alive :>) again and without losing too much data. In order to accomplish this goal , we need to restore everyday backup files into this standalone domain server daily to keep most updated including exchange mail boxes. But question is that it had difficulity to restore exchange mail boxes to new server in different domain. I used Backup 10 / exchange agent from Veritas and it always show Access denied , I try MS backup to restore and it just do not do it. So any idea about what is right way to restore exchange mail boxes file to another backup server ? Appreciated, Henry
Hi, If the standalone domain controller is part of your production environment you just install a new exchange server with the same name as an existing and use exchange setup /disasterrecovery. This should then give you an exchange server which is ready for restore. If the server is not part of your production network you should be able to use this: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;813337 Leif "Henry Lee" wrote in message news:OKOYmLlhGHA.4896@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Hi, > For our hurricane urgent plan , we keep one standalone domain > controller with every services on it for backup , so if hurricance hit > our city then we just can bring this server with us and rebuild the office > in another location (if we are still alive :>) again and without losing > too much data. > In order to accomplish this goal , we need to restore everyday backup > files into this standalone domain server daily to keep most updated > including exchange mail boxes.
