Outlook fails when hiding recipients from address list
When I check the box for "Hide from Exchange address lists" for a user in
active directory, their Outlook profile fails with a message that says "The
name could not be resolved. The name could not be matched to a name in the
address list." I uncheck the box, restart Outlook after a few minutes, and
the profile works fine. The behavior reverts when I check the box.

I need the ability to hide certain users from the GAL as well as give them
the ability to use Outlook. Is this possible? I am using Outlook 2003 with
Exchange 2003 Enterprise in native mode with Windows 2003 Active Directory.

Thanks,

Josh

I don't think this will work. What's the reason you need to hide the users?

I have accounts that I don't want in the GAL. This worked fine in Exchange
5.5.

Re: Outlook fails when hiding recipients from address list
Exchange 5.5 had its own directory...I don't believe there's a way to make
this work in Exchange 2000/2003...
