When I check the box for "Hide from Exchange address lists" for a user in active directory, their Outlook profile fails with a message that says "The name could not be resolved. The name could not be matched to a name in the address list." I uncheck the box, restart Outlook after a few minutes, and the profile works fine. The behavior reverts when I check the box. I need the ability to hide certain users from the GAL as well as give them the ability to use Outlook. Is this possible? I am using Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003 Enterprise in native mode with Windows 2003 Active Directory. Thanks, Josh

Exchange 5.5 had its own directory...I don't believe there's a way to make this work in Exchange 2000/2003... -- Susan Conkey [MVP] "Josh" <NOSPAMjosh_reineke@hotmail.comNOSPAM> wrote in message news:ej82znAhGHA.4044@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > > In news:edlYl6sgGHA.2456@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl, > > Josh <NOSPAMjosh_reineke@hotmail.comNOSPAM> typed: > >> When I check the box for "Hide from Exchange address lists" for a > >> user in active directory, their Outlook profile fails with a message > >> that says "The name could not be resolved.
