Hello All - Problem not receiving internal email to inbox oreven
Hello All,
We had a power issue this morning, but should not have effected servers.
However, I noticed a lot of red x in the application event viewer around that
time. So I restated the exchange server. Everything appeared to come back up
ok. I can even log into OWA.
However I can not get any internel or external email to my laptop. I can
send mail fine. Have not got any all day and I know I should of had a bunch
even has some coworkers send me test email. Can anyone give me pointers why
I am not receiving email. If I log onto OWA the email is not there either.
So I am guessing a problem with my mailbox on the server but not sure. I
would appreciate all help.
Thanks Dan

Aloha Dan,

Check your services on the Exchange Server and make sure all of the Exchange
services that need to be started...are. In particular make sure your SMTP
service is started. Are your coworkers receiving mail?

Re: Hello All - Problem not receiving internal email to inbox or
Hello Ben,
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes everything is started and everyone else I
know is getting email. Mainly its mine account and potentially a few others
who would not know. I did notice there was an error on our main server the
win2k server about it losing the master browser and an xp client became
master browser. I had to wait until after hours to restart this server I am
hoping this may have corrected the issue. Not sure if the master browser lost
would cause this kind of problem.
Thanks
Dan

Re: Hello All - Problem not receiving internal email to inbox or
Nope still can not receive email. Others can. Not sure if there is a
holding queue on my mailbox or something. Everyone else works as far as I
know. I can send fine. Just not received. Not sure if its lapter or server.
However if a coworker sends me something it does not even appear through
OWA. SMTP looks good as far as I know.
Thanks again,
Dan

Aloha Dan,

Does the other person get a bounce message? Can you check the message tracking
in System Manager and see where the message is going?

Re: Hello All - Problem not receiving internal email to inbox or
Hello Ben,
Thanks for response.
This is strange so strange. I can send mail fine. However, if I even use
strictly OWA from another person to send to me. It goes to there sent.
However, I never even see the message in OWA. We use an external company to
provide pop3 accounts. When I check my pop3 account doing send and receive I
can send messages fine. However the receive messages come off the external
pop3 server, but I can not see them in my client. So I am thinking just my
inbox has the problem. Is there a way to repair an echange mailbox or
something. This is so weird.
Thanks
Dan
