Forwarding Mail to an External Recipient - Problem
Hi,

I am forwarding email for three clients on my network to three external
email accounts while they are out of the country on business. This forwarding
is working great for all internal messages, they are being forwarded
correctly. The problem is with external messages.

For example, if my manager John Smith sends me an internal email, the
message is delivered to my mailbox and correctly forwarded to my external
account. However, if my consultant Jane O'Neil sends me an email from her
external account, the message is delivered to my mailbox but it is NOT
forwarded to my external account.

I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in a direction to
help me diagnose and fix this problem. I haven't been able to locate any
information on troubleshooting this specific problem, and I'm really hoping
to get some ideas on how to fix it.

Thank you so much!

On Global Settings, Internet Message Formats you will see a page full
of ticks. What is not ticked?

Thank you for replying!

Everything on the page in question is checkmarked:
Allow out of office responses (checkmarked)
  Allow automatic replies (checkmarked)
  Allow automatic forward (checkmarked)
  Allow delivery reports (checkmarked)
  Allow non-delivery reports (checkmarked)
Preserve sender's display name on message (checkmarked)

Do you have any other suggestions, please?

Thanks again,

Re: Forwarding Mail to an External Recipient - Problem
Hi Sylvia

Do you already have a solution for your problem?

I also have a similar problem. In some cases email to the same mailbox don't
be forwarded automatically to an external mailbox. In the message tracking I
can see that a NDR report is generated.
I send all emails to a smarthost(SUN Mailserver). I changed the Message
Encoding to UUENCODE but the problem still exists.

Re: Forwarding Mail to an External Recipient - Problem
Hi Matthias,

No, we have not been able to solve this problem. As a workaround, we're
using the rules in Outlook to forward email to an external account, but we
really want to get this working at the server level.

Thanks for your reply.
