Exchange Routing Question
A friend of mine called me up with a question regarding exchange mail flow.
They have an exchange server that houses mydomain.com at corporate. One of
the branch offices also houses mydomain.com. If a user at corporate emails
user1@mydomain.com on the exchange server, the message is delivered locally
to that user. If a user emails user2@mydomain.com and that user is located
over in the branch office (using Imail) they recieve the message. I thought
since exchange was houses mydomain.com that if a user doesn't exist on that
mail server then the user will get an NDR, I didn't think that exchange
would then fail over to MX looksup....? How is this possible? Thanks.
