Exchange 2000 Event Sinks
Hi

Ive searched the web for help on configuring a virtual server for IIS and
SMTP to route all internal email through this server so that my events sinks
installed on this server will fire for internal outlook (exchange) email.

Ive had no luck. Im not an exchange genius but know my way around ok'ish.
Our environment is as follows - exchange 2000 server (although i have a 2003
server offline but ready if need be). AD is installed on a Windows 2000
server. We have an ISP hosted mailserver with a 3rd party utlity called
eXchagePop3 which downloads the email from our ISP and puts them into
exchage mailboxes. External sent email is forwarded through our ISP
mailserver as well through an SMTP connector in exchange.

The problem is that my event sinks fire for all outbound sent email and all
externally received email. They do not fire for internal outlook (exchange
email). I read i could route internal email through an smtp connector but i
tried that and installed the sinks on the smtp server with no luck.

I think the problem here is my lack of understand of configuring exchange
with smtp connectors and smarthosts within my environment. Can anyone help ?

Thanks

Adrian
