Unable to Send and Receive Mail
Running Windows 2000 Exchange Server with nodes of XP and 2000 O/S.

Sporadically, unable to received mail, but always unable to send mail to the
outside (receives internal mail only).

I received the following message when clicking the send and received button
to retrieve mail:

Task 'INET (Server name) - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC6A) : 'Your
outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP). The server responded: 451 4.3.5 Requested action
aborted: local error processing'.

Note INET is my mail server name and there's no ID log in my workstation
Event Viewer.

Please advise asap...thanks.

Re: Unable to Send and Receive Mail
Hi,

The error you are reporting is from the Outlook client.

What do you do to remedy the situation?
Any errors reported in the application log on the Exchange server?
Is it possible for you to configure your clients not to be POP3 clients?

Agree with Leif - best to have your internal clients connect directly to the
mailboxes (MAPI, not POP/IMAP). You're missing most of the Exchange features
if you treat it only as a POP3 server.
