We are running Exchange 2k w/sp3 on Sever 2k and Outlook 2k on Win XP w/sp2. After we upgraded to XP/sp2 and to sp3 on Exchange we had been having a delay problem with some of the users getting their email. The only time they can retrive e-mail is when they manually refresh Outlook themselves, either by clicking the send/receive option or changing folders. This does not occur on all PCs and we have been unable to isolate the problem. Does anyone else have a similar problem?
Hi, Is the XP firewall enabled? If yes try to create an Outlook exception in the firewall. Items actually do send properly, but my outbox takes close to a minute to refresh. If I move to another folder, however, it refreshes immediately. Also, my inbox folder name will bold and tell me that I have new messages, but I can't see them until I move out of the Inbox and back in. This doesn't happen all the time; every now and then it refreshes as it should. Our IT guys have been trying to figure it out, but so far no go. All was well for over a year. Then I moved to a new building and started having trouble. -- Lisa Tollefson ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via http://www.mcse.ms ------------------------------------------------------------------------ View this thread: http://www.mcse.ms/message1568377.html
Hi, This is a known problem when XP service pack 2 is installed. You either need to disable the firewall (if inside a corporate lan with firewalls in place) or allow for udp traffic thru the firewall. This might help http://groups.google.dk/group/microsoft.public.outlook/browse_thread/thread/2e2849ec27d42d43/bf186e93bdd3e16a?lnk=st&q=windows+xp+service+pack+2+outlook+firewall&rnum=5&hl=da#bf186e93bdd3e16a Leif "Lisa Tollefson" skrev i en meddelelse news:Lisa.Tollefson.1xfiv4@mail.mcse.ms... > > > kgslego wrote: > > *We are running Exchange 2k w/sp3 on Sever 2k and Outlook 2k on Win > > XP > > w/sp2.
