ADC Windows 2003 --> Exchange 5.5 cannot replicate
We have an Exchange 5.5 organisation running on NT4.0

However on one site we have an Exchange 2003 box which sits in a new AD
domain.

We want to be able to create new user accounts (with mailboxes) in AD and
then replicate those mailboxes to the internal GAL of our Exchange 5.5
organisation. We can create the new users without a problem, but when the
ADCs attempt to replicate the new accounts, we get the following error in the
Application Log (I have renamed the connectors/server for security):

Event Type:	Warning
Event Source:	MSADC
Event Category:	Replication
Event ID:	8290
Date: 4/11/2005
Time: 2:15:03 PM
User: N/A
Computer:	LONDONEXCHANGE
Description:
The ADC cannot replicate CN=Dirk
Gently,OU=Users,OU=IS,DC=support,DC=bss,DC=local. The site that the object
belongs in is read only on the connected

Exchange 5.5 Server. If another connection agreement can replicate this
object to a 5.5 server in the correct site, then ignore this message.
(Connection

Agreement 'Users: support.bss.local - Manch2' #3176)

For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

I cannot understand what the problem is. All admin credentials that we
have used on these connectors have full write access to the Exchange 5.5
sites.

We have 3 AD domains (one empty root and 2 sub-domains). We have ADCs from
each domain to each of the 5 Exchange 5.5 sites. Totalling 15 ADCs for User
replication.

Any help would be great.

RE: ADC Windows 2003 --> Exchange 5.5 cannot replicate
We sorted this one.

The error message is a little misleading as the problem was caused by the
fact that we hadn't put all the relevant OUs in the "from Windows" tab in the
properties of the Users ADC.

If you are operating multiple domains, this needs to be done on the primary
Connection Agreement for each domain.

I realise that I've answered my own post but it may be useful to someone
else out there!
