Exchange 2003 sending mail to incorrect domain
Hi,

I'm having a problem sending to one domain. The domain is emirates.net.ae
When sending mail to this domain the user gets a NDR the there was a DNS
error sending to ermirates.net.ae. Event Viewer on the Exchange 2003 server
shows an error sending to emirotes.net.ae. Looking at the mail queue shows
Exchange sending to emirotes.net.ae.

The Exchange Server machine -(network settings) is set to use local -(no
forwarders) DNS. The Exchange Virtual Server is pointed to the DNS server
on my ISA server that does use our ISP's DNS servers as forwarders.

Nslookup on the Exchange server fails to resolve external hostnames -(as
expected) using internal DNS servers. When switching to the DNS server the
Exchange Virtual Server is using, it correctly finds A and MX records for
the domain emirates.net.ae.

This problem is only occurring with this one domain! I've rebooted the
server, cleared the cache on all DNS servers, looked at the cache on all DNS
servers, and done an ipconfig /flushdns on all the DNS servers and Exchange
server. Also checked host files on all machines as well as

I have also set diagnostic logging at max for Exchange Transport, but no
help there. Internally it knows emirates.net.ae -(based on the NDR the user
gets), but when it tries to send it is looking for emirotes.net.ae.

The DNS cache on the DNS server -(the one on ISA that is set in the Exchange
Virtual Server) does have emirates.net.ae, and nothing in the cache for
emirotes.net.ae.

Thanks,

Mark
