PDA Half Works
I have a user with a new PDA. He wants to use it to receive and send e-mail
when he's out, which is quite often.

I have set up IMAP4 for this purpose and he can indeed receive e-mail. The
sending only half works, in that he can send to anyone on the Exchange
server, in his domain, but cannot send to anyone in a different domain.

I immediately thought of the settings for relaying. Checking them, they are
configured as follows:
            - Authenticate has all 3 boxes checked.
            - Relay has selected "only the list below", which is empty and
the check box
"Allow all computers which successfully authenticate..." is
checked.

These are the same for the Default SMTP Virtual Server and the Client Access
Virtual Server.

Looking at the Default IMAP4 Virtual Server the settings, for Access, are as
follows:
- Authentication has both boxes checked and the Default Domain is
blank.
- Connections has “All except the list below” checked and the list
is empty.

Settings on the PDA:
            - Account type - IMAP4
            - Username and Password are correct
            - Connect and check for mail is clear (User must do Send/Receive)
            - Connection is set to Internet
            - Require SSL Connection is clear
            - Outgoing mail requires authentication is checked

As far as the Exchange Server, it is Exchange 2000 with Service Pack 3.

I am fairly new with this mobile stuff, so would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
John
