Pinging a server in different tree domain
We are having a forest domain known as domainforest.com . And two tree domain
known as domaintree1.com & domaintree2.com . A server is hosted in
domaintree1.com named as iisserver1 . Its FQDN is iisserver1.domaintree1.com.
When I ping the server iisserver1 from the domaintree2.com domain it resolves
and the reply is from FQDN iisserver1.domaintree2.com . But actually the
server is hosted in domaintree1.com . I think it should get a reply from
domaintree1.com. And the FQDN should be iisserver1.domaintree1.com . This is
not only for this server but for all the servers in domaintree1.com. But when
I ping from domaintree1.com to the servers hosted in domaintree2.com it
resolves perfectly.

Please respond ASAP

RE: Pinging a server in different tree domain
This has nothing to do with Exchange server, check DNS configuration...
