Connecting 2 Internal Exchange domains
We recently began hosting servers for another organization in ours. We have
a need to communicate between the two domains and I would like to route the
traffic internally rather than going over the Internet. Both servers have IP
addresses in the private ip range (192.168. and 10.).

Do I need to set up routing groups or an SMTP connector to do this?

Is this something I can do by changing the DNS settings on each domain to
reflect the other's MX record as a local address for internal resolution?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, John

Re: Connecting 2 Internal Exchange domains
Hi,

Create a smtp connector on each server, use smarthost to deliver directly to
the other server and on the address space you enter the domain name of the
other domain.

Re: Connecting 2 Internal Exchange domains
Hi Leif.

I have same question, one Exchange organization smarthost to deliver to
other exchange master server ? right?, but how can share two exchange global
address to different Exchange organization. We use Exchange 2003.

My company has aquired two company, we all take use Exchange 2003, we would
like to share global address list first, then try to get connection between
exchange organization exchange server.

Thanks.

Albert
